Epic Funk Brass Band, a high-energy New Orleans style second-line brass band hailing from Jackson, MS, has been captivating audiences since their formation in 2016. Drawing inspiration from iconic brass bands such as Rebirth Brass Band, Hot 8 Brass Band, and New Breed Brass Band, the group has developed a unique sound that blends traditional brass band music with a contemporary funk twist.

Led by a dynamic group of talented musicians,  two original members, Eddie Newton (snare drum) and Phillip Kelly (trumpet), Joshua Hood, Robert Estes (trombone), Jonathan Johnson, Avery Sanders and Corey Carter (trumpet),  Tellis Moaton(tuba), Jermaine Hughes(tuba),  Cedric Wiley(Tenor Sax) and Shaun"baby hawk" Stamps (bass drum).

 Epic Funk Brass Band has quickly made a name for themselves within the music scene. With their infectious rhythms, soulful melodies, and electrifying performances, they have become known for bringing the party wherever they go.

The band's accomplishments are a testament to their undeniable talent and dedication. Currently, they are in the studio working on their highly anticipated debut project, which promises to showcase their versatility and musical prowess. Additionally, Epic Funk Brass Band has recently filmed five commercials for the City of Jackson, solidifying their reputation as local ambassadors of the city's vibrant culture and music scene.

Furthermore, Epic Funk Brass Band's impressive resume includes a notable appearance in the Mardi Gras scene of the acclaimed TV series "Queer as Folk," adding further exposure to their already growing fan base.
